How we pick

Most diecast shops list everything their distributor carries — thousands of SKUs, no opinion, and a catalog you have to dig through. Midnight Garage runs the opposite way.

Nearly half of it never sells

We went through every collector model the distributor offers us and checked, model by model, how many of each had actually sold. The answer was bracing: nearly half had never sold a single unit. Not slow — zero. Those models sit in every other shop's listings, padding the count, waiting for nobody.

We don't stock those. What's here is what people actually buy: the castings that move, the liveries worth looking at, and the tuner and JDM stuff this place was built around.

Small on purpose

626 collector models in the distributor's catalog. 290 have never sold a single unit — not slow, zero. We carry 60, across BM Creations, GT Spirit, Inno Models, Mini GT, Otto Mobile, Pop Race, Tarmac Works.

The shelf is capped. When something new comes on, something comes off. Sell-through checked October 2026.

What we care about

  • It has to move. No dead stock padding the catalog.
  • Condition. Blister cards matter. Models ship unopened in original manufacturer packaging.
  • Fair prices. Shop prices, not flipper prices. Free US shipping, no minimum.
  • Honesty. If a model is a common re-release, we don't dress it up as a grail.

The name

Midnight Garage started as a motorcycle project. The name stuck because it describes the hour most of this actually happens — the shelf lit, everything else quiet, one more car out of the case.
